I began studying Stone Tool Technology in 2008 as part of my Master Degree at University of Ferrara (Italy). Following this, I achieved an International Erasmus Mundus scholarship at the Natural History Museum - Paris.

The main focus of my research is to understand stone tool production and stone tool utilization through techno-functional analysis.

Currently, my PhD investigates the Neanderthal capability of employing stone-tipped wooden spear through the recognition of macroscopic and microscopic use-wear patterns that may distinguish different projectile systems.

Research interests:

·         use-wear analysis and microscopy

·         lithic technology

·         experimental archaeology

·         projectile technology
