I am currently employed as a lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London. I am a political geographer interested in the intersections between technology, culture, and warfare. More specifically, I am interested in conceptual questions around technological mobilities, visibilities, and futures; aerial and robotic securities; and contemporary warfare and militarised practice. I completed a PhD in Human Geography at the University of Exeter. Entitled ‘Unmanned geographies: Drone visions and visions of the drone’, my PhD research explored the propagation of drones in particular military, commercial, and civilian contexts. My thesis adopts a dual interest in interrogating both the ways in which the drone frames those 'targets' and topographies below it, and the ways in which the drone is framed by particular trade and wider advocacy communities. I was previously employed as an associate research fellow on the ludic geopolitics project, and as a research assistant on the mapping sense of place project.  Twitter: @ahjackman
