I read Translation and Comparative Literature for my first degree at the University of Hong Kong and obtained a master's degree in Contemporary Approaches to English Studies at Goldsmith's College, University of London. I am currently an EdD student at the University of Exeter.

Since 1998, I have been working as a teacher in secondary schools in Hong Kong. In 1999, I started working as an Education Officer in the government school system in Hong Kong, mainly teaching English language to 12 to 18 year-old male students, and holding two administrative positions of teacher in charge of Special Educational Needs and Careers & Life Planning Mistress.

As the teacher in charge of SEN, I have to oversee the funding of the government financial provision for SEN including deployment of Teaching Assistants, procurement of intervention programmes for students with SEN, co-ordinating services of school-based educational and clincal psychologists as well as running programmes to promote inclusive education in my school. I have also conducted formal sharing sessions in territory-wide training seminars organised by the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Government.
