I am a General Practice (family medicine) trainee currently working in the West Midlands. My primary medical qualification was obtained from Birmingham, along with a bachelors in neuroscience.

My research focuses on Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) and disability in health professional education and training. However, my interests are far broader, extending to learner support and doctors in difficulty. This is reflected in a great deal of what I get up to, including developing mindfulness and mentoring within healthcare organisations.

I am currently working towards an EdD (doctor of education) in Special Educational Needs at the Graduate School of Education. My research is fully supported by a grant from the College of Social Sciences and International Studies. My work will focus on SpLD in medical education, focusing on dyslexia and the interplay between this SpLD and medical learners development of their identities, learning practices and the strategies they use to compensate for their difficulties.
