Enjo Xuying Fan is originally from Guangdong, China and has lived and studied in Exeter for the past 11 years. She has a Bachelor of Education Studies, a Master of TESOL and a Master of Educational Research from the University of Exeter, where she is currently awarded her PhD degree. During her time as an international student she has developed her interest in doing educational research, particularly in the field of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

Her research interests also involve thinking skills, classroom interaction, English language teaching, language teacher cognition, discourse analysis, intercultural communicative competence and overseas students' identity. Her current thesis focuses on teacher cognitions of thinking skills in Chinese primary EFL classrooms.

Enjo is assisting Master students’ learning, and running workshops for MEd TESOL students for over three years. She endeavours to apply her academic knowledge to every moment of her teaching experience.
