I work primarily as a dramaturg and writer. Before pursuing my Ph.D, I was a faculty/staff member at both the the Fine Arts and English Departments of the Ateneo de Manila University where I developed the first dramaturgy undergraduate course at the university.

I also served as the resident dramaturg and Senior Culture and Arts Officer at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) where I curated artistic programmes with the Intertextual Division. Here, I inaugurated the production of 'Performatura', the CCP's national performed poetry festival as Deputy Festival Director.

I received my M.A. in Theater (Dramaturgy Concentration) degree from Hunter College, City University of New York and A.B. Literature (English) degree from the Ateneo de Manila University.

I have worked on the development of over 250 new plays by established and emerging playwrights in New York and Manila with the Lark Play Development Center, Ma-Yi Theater Company and its Writers Lab, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Virgin Labfest and Writers Bloc. I always find ways to support the development of new work, and forging relationships with and between artists, communities and institutions.

My work for the CCP's resident theater company, Tanghalang Pilipino, Pahimakas sa Isang Ahente (Death of a Salesman) and Der Kaufmann: Ang Negosyante ng Venecia were cited and awarded respectively for Outstanding Production of Existing Material for a Play by the Philstage Gawad Buhay Awards.

Prior to my work in the theatre, I served as creative copywriter for TV, radio and print at the global advertising agency, Publicis JimenezBasic in the Philippines.
