I am a PhD Candidate in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Exeter. My research focuses on gender in Ovid's amatory texts, specifically the presentation of masculinity and how this can help us to better understand modern conceptions and problems of manhood. More broadly, my research interests include Latin literature, gender and sexuality, and classical reception.

I am a Lead Editor for the online magazine Ekklesia, which aims to make study of the ancient world more accessible through providing articles without a paywall and accepting submissions from anyone, regardless of their level of academic achievement. I also chair the weekly meetings for Exeter Works in Progress, in which a member of our PGR community shares their work or a paper which they are developing in an informal and supportive context.

You can find me on Twitter and Instagram at @imogen_briscoe, where I share updates on any exciting projects I am working on!
