After completing my BA in Politics and Religious Studies at Newcastle University, I worked in industry for two years before training as a teacher of Religious Education at Sheffield Hallam University. I taught RE at a couple of comprehensive schools before becoming the head of Philosophy and Religious Studies at a large, rural school.

In 2012 I left teaching to complete a taught MA at Nottingham University in Theology and Religious Studies. My focus turned to Catholic Theology and I particularly enjoyed research on La Nouvelle Theologie, de Lubac, Mary and Dante. It is these interests I have continued in my PhD research at Exeter.
