I recently completed a PhD at the Centre for Medical History at the University of Exeter, funded by the Wellome Trust and AHRC, and supervised by Professors Mark Jackson and Kate Fisher.

My thesis entitled, "Negotiating Intimacies': Gender, rehabilitation and the professionalisation of massage, c.1880-1920', is a social constructivist exploration of the early development of physiotherapy in Britain. The research gives new perspectives on the history of physiotherapy, medical rehabilitation before and during the First World War and highlights the value of historical analysis in understanding the process of professionalisation.

In 2012 I completed an MA in Medical History (distinction) funded by the Wellcome Trust at the University of Exeter, and graduated from King's College London in 2011 with a BA in History (first).
