I am a professional doctorate candidate at the graduate school of education. I obtained an MA degree in Applied Linguistics from California State University, Long Beach funded by the Institute of Public Administration and the Saudi government. Dissertation title: “Pragmatic Failure in Compliment Responses among Saudi Speakers of English”.

I have worked in several positions at different stages of my life since graduating from high school: administrator for private and for public sectors, computer maintenance, costumer service, marketing, operator, data entry, teacher. Recently, I worked as a director of the English Language Centre at the Institute of Public Administration for two years.This experience has widen my gaze towards the powerful impact of management and leraders on staff professional development and learning.

My main research interests include:

-          Professional development.

-          Leadership and management.

-          Critical applied linguistics.

-          Language policy and language planning.

-          English as a medium of instruction.

Educational and professional attainments:

-          The Complete Course on Leadership conducted at: Movenpick Hotel, Geneva, Switzerland (August 2015) by COPEX.

-          Training 101 Workshop (Los Angeles, Spring 2013): the world’s largest Train-The-Trainer Company (LANGEVIN Learning Services).

-          Diploma in computer applications and software from the Community College at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia.

-          Training Course in CMS; Content Management System from the Computer Science Department at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah.

-          Training Certificate from HALWANI BROS COMPANY – summer training for university students in working for the private sector.

-           Training Course conducted by the Saudi Society at the University of Exeter entitled "Organisational Innovation: Strategies and Models" (January/2017).

-          Training session conducted by the Saudi Society at the University of Exeter entitled "From Reading a Text to Publishing a Paper" (May/2017).
