I gained my BA in History and Politics from the University of Exeter in 2011, before moving onto my MA in International Studies (Environment) at Oxford Brookes University, where I helped to organise the Oxford Brookes Postgraduate Conference 2012 and was involved in the Postgraduate Liaison Forum.
After this, I worked outside of academia for a few years, becoming a Digital Media Coordinator for a publishing house, a Resident Mentor for INTO, and working at the University of Exeter in various roles.
In January 2015, I started my part-time MA by Research in Politics studying political engagement and how British political parties harness political engagement for electoral success, in particular looking at social media. I worked on the British Election Study of 2015 on the Media in Context project, working as one of the researchers and coders. I have also been involved in working as an Impact Researcher for the Tallinn Manual 2.0 in 2017, as a Grand Challenges Facilitator from 2016-19, as a Research Assistant for the LSE and I have also been nominated for multiple teaching awards by the University.
I have been published twice, once in a collaborative effort with the 1989 Generation Initiative concerning democratic renewal in the European Union, and I wrote my own paper in the SWDTP Journal on a comparative study of the AV and EU Referendums, which was well-received. Along with this, I have been teaching for over four years, and as stated, have been recognised for this by being nominated for multiple teaching awards. I am also on the editorial board of TOR, the journal run by the South West Doctoral Training Partnership. My supervisors were Professor Susan Banducci and Dr Amy McKay.
I recently obtained my MAbyRes postgraduate research degree, passing both my viva and submitting corrections.
