I graduated from the University of Oxford in June 2010, with BA (Hons.) in Geography. During my undergraduate degree, I studied a broad range of both human and physical geography, although one of my option modules, 'The Quaternary Period' sparked a particular interest in the past climate. Following from this, I completed my dissertation, entitled 'Palaeoenvironmental conditions of the Northern Drakensburg, South Africa: Evidence of aeolian activity during the last glacial cycle', using a range of methods including luminescence dating, grain-size analysis, loss on ignition and phytolith analysis to carry out a palaeoenvironmental reconstruction.

I am currently studying for a PhD, funded by the Climate Change and Sustainable Futures Group at the University of Exeter. Broadly speaking, my research involves the investigation and detection of abrupt changes ('tipping points') in the palaeoclimate record through time-series analysis.
